Join us on April 14 as Archie Landreman discusses mass timber with us.   Meeting and presentation will begin at 5:30.  Hobnobbing before and after.

Archie lives in Racine, Wisconsin and is responsible for business development and sales at Sterling Structural in Phoenix, IL. Sterling Structural is a CLT manufacturer. He has been active in the wood and structural building component industry for over fifty years. He has extensive experience with lumber, timber, structural wood panels, prefabricated wall panels, wood trusses, engineered wood products, mass timber and structural insulated panels. He has held various sales and sales management positions in the wood truss and engineered wood products industry. Most recently Archie was the North Central Regional Director for WoodWorks from 2008 until 2022.

Archie has assisted on hundreds of projects. These are a few Mass Timber buildings: Ascent in Milwaukee, T-3 in Minneapolis, MSU S.T.E.M. in Lansing, MI, 1036 West Fulton Market in Chicago, Intro in Cleveland and 111 E Grand in Des Moines.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Establish the best products for your project including budget, timeline and sustainability goals 
  2. Learn the right questions to ask from the get-go to start your mass timber project off on the right trajectory for success
  3. Dive into the many items within the design team’s control that affect cost, availability and timeline and how to manage them 
  4. Understand methods to work with your manufacturer to ensure the project stays on budget and meets your client’s needs 

This presentation is accredited for 1 AIA LU.

The presentation will be preceded by a brief business meeting to vote on chapter president and secretary. 

The meeting will be held at the office of Potter Lawson, 749 University Row.  Please note that after 5:00, the dental office parking is available to the public.

The cost for doing a tabletop presentation is $50.00 for chapter members, and $75.00 for nonmembers. Your fee includes a table set up for you to display your products, and a chance to do a brief (10 minute max.) introduction for yourself and your products.
